The Inner West Photographic Society (IWPS) is a photography club associated with the Federation of Camera Clubs (FCC) of New South Wales, Australia. The club meets at Wests Ashfield Leagues Club in the Sydney Inner West suburb of Ashfield at 115 Liverpool Road, not far from Parramatta Road. See Find Us for a map and public transportation access details. From February to November, IWPS meets twice a month on the first and the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM. See the Schedule - 2007 for club activities from February to December. There are no meetings in January. Visitors are welcome. The club has a mixture of beginner to experienced photographers. See Contact Us for an email address contact and a telephone contact number. The members of the IWPS are a diverse bunch of people - all ages, backgrounds and professions, brought together by their passion for photography. There is a monthly competition amongst members (sometimes we have a more social night with different clubs). Qualified guest judges offer useful criticism, advice and encouragement on the prints and slides that members wish to enter. Click here for competition rules. As well as competitions, we have guest lecturers coming along to talk on their particular field which could be subjects such as; Photoshop, black and white imagery, sports photography, photojournalism etc This is a great opportunity to pickup an amazing array of knowledge on a wide variety of photographic subjects. We also organise an annual photographic exhibition and our members sometimes get together for day trips or a night shoot. Membership is $45.00 per year. Wests League Club membership is also required and is only $11.00 a year. See Join the Club for more information. The website and Photo Gallery are hosted by Foremost Communications |
